Or you can ask “what should I save?” if you have a goal in mind and need to know how much to save each month to reach your ambitions.

For those with big goals and little time, basic mode only asks you for minimal information, while taking care of the rest. For those that like to get into the weeds, advanced mode gives you more control in calculating your 401k. In both cases, anything you leave blank will default to the national average!

A lot can change until you retire, so you'll probably want to check out some of your previous calculations. No need to pick up the pen and paper, this one is on us--your last 3 plans are automatically saved in your history.
